Landmarks are non-building structures that players can come across in-game. Most of these structures do not have a significant use, and most are only for decorative purposes.

There is small chance of a burning car with a bandit appearing shortly after a landmark.

List of Landmarks[]

Dusty's Trucks[]

DustysTrucks

Dusty's Trucks

A landmark that appears at ~3500m that resembles a truck stop. The Trucker mini-boss can be fought in this location. If defeated, The Trucker will drop the mystery box item needed to complete the quest from Defuser Drew.

This location also has a good amount of loot inside the store portion.

Bridge[]

Bridge

The bridge landmark appears at ~5000m. It is an unreliable bridge connecting the road over a large gap with big open holes that you and your vehicle can fall into. Your vehicle cannot go back up (by convenient ways).

Bridge viewed sideways.

It is easy to pass the bridge if you drive carefully over the holes with boards.

In the beginning there are two full 9-liter gas canisters as a reward.

Stagecoach[]

Stagecoach

The stagecoach is a small landmark which appears at ~6500m.

It is a crashed old western stagecoach surrounded by rocks and empty bottles. Saloon Sergei sits in front of the stagecoach and will ask the player to kill the boss at the Saloon for him. Doing so will earn the player access to the Desert Traveler. There is no need to drive back to him after completing the task.

Shed[]

Shed is a repeating landmark that appears every ~6,667m, starting at 6,667m.

Litle house in adt

It is a small red structure consisting of a door and a shelf. There are 2 paintings inside, both of Michael Jackson.

There are no enemies or other items in this location. It's best to just ignore it.

Checkpoint

Checkpoint

Checkpoint[]

Checkpoint appears at ~7500m.

You will always need to drive uphill to reach it, which could be troubling while using the worst engine or during some events (rain, sandstorm). The structure itself consists of an empty building with a bar covering the road ahead. The bar has no collision and you should just drive through it without any problems.

There are no items or enemies on this landmark.

Saloon[]

Saloon

Saloon

Saloon appears at ~8000m.

It is an 1800s Saloon which contains 4 mutants dressed as cowboys (Not to be confused with the Cowboy Mutants of the Ghost Town) and the Gunslinger. He has 3 main attacks, Dynamite Throw, Shooting while Spinning and regular shooting. He will often throw dynamite at the car when driving past.

There are no items in this location. Defeating the Gunslinger after having talked to Saloon Sergei at the Stagecoach will give every player present the Desert Traveler.

Canyon[]

Canyon

Canyon

Canyon appears at ~10000m.

It consists of a winding path and several concrete walls and fences. Bandits armed with guns are hiding behind these obstacles and will shoot at any players who get too close. It's suggested that you armor your car by covering it with various objects and try your best not to crash into anything or using a bulletproof car. Eg: Viper, etc.

Alternatively, you can outrange the bandits with any gun. You will need at least ~60 shots worth of ammo total and good aim to clear all the enemies.

There are no items.

(You can skip this landmark by driving along the right invisible wall. Eventually, you will find that the invisible wall ends so you will be able to skip the canyon.)

Ice Cream Parlor[]

The Ice Cream Parlor is a landmark that appears at ~13750m. It is a small building in the center of a fenced area with a few plants and benches. Several mutants, including the Ice Cream Boss spawn here, along with the boss. There are no items at this location.

Outpost

Outpost "Tunnel camp"

Tunnel Camp[]

The Tunnel Camp is a landmark that appears at ~15000m. It is a small commune built next to a mountain, with a tunnel allowing the road to pass through.

The light green building contains a V8 Engine, 6 canisters with 9L of gas, 9 canisters with 6.9L of water, and 4 canisters with 6.9L of both diesel and oil. All other buildings have no loot and can't be entered.

There are no enemies.

Radio Tower[]

RadioTower

Radio tower

The radio tower landmark is a repeating landmark that appears every ~20000m, starting at 20000m.

The lower building contains random loot with higher chances of getting a rare item and at the top of tower there is a Rope Gun locked in a glass box.

There is radio on table up the tower. It broadcasts the following Morse code:

... . -. -.. / .... . .-.. .--. / ..-. .. . .-.. -.. ... / ..- -. -.. . .-. / .- - - .- -.-. -.- / .... . ... / .-- .- - -.-. .... .. -. --. / -.-- --- ..-

Which translates to "SEND HELP FIELDS UNDER ATTACK HES WATCHING YOU"[1]

There are no enemies. The Shed will sometimes generate within the fenced area.

Ghost Town[]

Ghost town day

Ghost town

The ghost town landmark is a landmark that appears at ~25000m. The environment will always become dark, desaturated, and rainy when you get close, regardless of the time of day. Vehicles will become rusty after spending a short time in the rain, but this doesn't affect players or items in any way. Both sides of the Ghost Town are covered by invisible walls, forcing you to drive through to progress.

This landmark generates a large amount of items. Most loot will be scattered on the road and around the buildings, only 2 of which can be entered. As of Version 1.6, Rare Items have a much higher chance to spawn here. There will always be a large pile of full liquid containers of each type waiting at the end of the town's main area.

Exclusive enemies spawn in this area, named 'Cowboy Mutants'. They are much faster and jump higher than normal mutants, to the point that it is impossible to outrun them. They will spawn in a swarm in the center of the street. Driving past/through them is difficult due to the density.

It is advised that you keep your distance from them since they are extremely fast and grouped together, and that you have enough weapons to fend them off (much simpler if there are more people with you). A common strategy to clear the Ghost Town is by acquiring the 'Vampire's dagger' by defeating the Vampire mini-boss that spawns at any church. Farming mutants in order to level the blade up so that it 1-shots mutants will make clearing the town significantly easier. Get out of your car, briefly step into the edge of the swarm's detection range, and run away. Attack the mutants as they catch up to you. Repeat this process, killing a few mutants each time, until they're all dead.

There are approximately 150 mutants[2] in the Ghost Town. Killing all of them will award every player present with the Ghostbusters badge.

Grassland entrance[]

The grassland entrance is a landmark that appears at ~60000m. (Formerly ~30000m, before plains update)

It is a fork in the road with 2 possible paths. One path leads you to more desert, the other path will lead you to the grassland, at the end of the grassy path you will find a book that says: "Entry 53: Found somethin' mighty peculiar out by the east field today. After the morning chores were done, I set to check out on the crops, minding my own business, as always. But b and behold what do I stumble upon amidst the overgrown weeds and twisted metal? A rifle, like nothin I’d ever seen it weren’t no ordinary gun. Had all these strange buttons and wires, shiny glowy metal gleaming against the rusted remnants of civilization. must’ve been one of the Sci-fi contraptions the old-timers used to talk about before everything went to pot. can’t rightly say how it got there or what it’s meant for. But it felt powerful in my hands, like holdin’ the fate of this broken world. Took it back to the homestead, and if them mutants come creepin’ again maybe this gun?_tangled gizmo will give ‘em a run for their money

Grassland

Entry 54: Margies still out tending the wheat fields, wake up to the sound of bang boomin this morning, and it weren’t the usual livestock carrying on. Rushed to the window and saw ‘em thought it was the muties. Grabbed the rifle. My hands shakin’ more than a leaf in the storm Need to get everyone outta here, while I still can"

Trivia[]

TunnelCamp Front
  • There is a hidden, underground Tunnel Camp located at the edge of the map in front of the Starter House.
    • As it turns out, this is the same camp when you reach 15,000m as if you have taken anything from the camp at the beginning of the game, when you reach the camp at 15,000m, the same items you took at the beginning will be missing.
      • This likely means that the camp is "teleported" to the 15,000m mark after you have traveled super far from the spawn (maybe the 5,000 or 10,000m mark, most likely due to performance issues if this were rendered in throughout the journey to 15,000m).
      • Sidenote: it is no longer accessible since the devs decided to move the underground tunnel camp VERY far down from the actual map so yea.
      • (made by hedkafa1)in fact, if you drive your car where your car points at in the game spawn and slowly fall throughout the map, you will see the tunnel camp but you must bring a few items like the paintings, the wooden planks and other stuff to make a small ramp to get to road because the devs made that there's a small gap between sand and the road so that you can't drive your car to road and keep going that easily but you can stick the items together to create a ramp and that your car might turn upside down during the falling so that it's a 50 50 chance
  • There was once a glitch in the generation where outpost would spawn at the start with all the stuff but was later removed in version 1.4.
  • Right before you enter the Canyon, you can instead turn right and drive around it. There is an invisible wall blocking the path ahead, but it does not cover the very edge of the map. Be careful of the large bumps in the terrain.
  • Bridge originally had a final and somewhat difficult ramp. However, it was removed in the 'Hoard and Haul' update in late April 2024 due to trailers not having an easy time clearing the jump. You initially would have had to speed up to fly over the hole and not fall in. By reaching around 50-60km/h you could safely make the jump, given that you avoided wooden posts around the ramp.
  • Before the plains release there was a teaser, a landmark that appears at ~30000m called The Great Plains Ranch. Before the update at 30000m the road splits, and there are two signs one saying "More Desert" the other says "Welcome to The Great Plains Ranch". The "Great Plains Ranch" was a teaser of the now released Grass Biome update and has a high resemblance of the Grass Plain's spawn location, however one of the buildings is on fire. None of the structures contain any loot, but there was a notebook that involves lore related material. This landmark was moved to 60000m after the plains update.
  • The Rope Gun is actually not limited to the Radio Tower. It can spawn as a rare item in the Ghost Town (or anywhere in the game). It has a 1 in 413,000 chance of spawning this way.
